At our school, personal development is at the heart of our curriculum, enriched through a wide range of exciting visits and visitors that inspire curiosity and broaden pupils’ understanding of the world. Educational trips to places such as Marwell Zoo, the British Museum, Winchester Science Museum, the Houses of Parliament, and Longleat provide memorable, hands-on learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world contexts. We also welcome a variety of visitors — including the Explore India cultural workshop, a mobile planetarium, and published authors — who bring fresh perspectives and spark creativity. As Ofsted noted, “Pupils have a wealth of opportunities available to them to support their development. Trips, such as to the British Museum to find out about Ancient Egypt, enhance their learning. Work with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the school’s musicianship programme strongly develop pupils’ musical talents.”
