  • Attendance

We place huge importance on 'Good Attendance' at Wimborne St Giles CE VA First School and Nursery.

Staff, children and governors all work together to promote good attendance throughout the school.

At Wimborne St Giles we know it is really important to attend school regularly so that we get a good education and don't miss out on our learning.

The school council have been helping Mrs Hill to think of ways to promote good attendance.

Last year we agreed as a school that, to encourage good attendance, we would decide a reward for the Year group winning the ‘Attendance Race’ each half term. This could be extra playtime, a DVD afternoon, a picnic off-site, etc.

School Council reps have asked each class for their ideas and the top 3 have been chosen, which are: an electronics playtime, a trophy and an afternoon trip.

Mrs Hill will share the current attendance figures for each year group on Thursdays  and we have created an 'Attendance Race' display board in the hall. She will inform the school of the chosen reward for the year group winning this half term’s attendance race. The results will be announced before the last Friday of every half term.
