    WALT: write a recount

Today, we are going to write a recount all about the fun you had in the snow on Sunday.

You did a great job planning your recount yesterday and came up with lots of ideas to include in your writing

When you write a recount, the first thing that you need to do is to start with an introduction. This usually includes when and what happened.  So we will start our recount with:

    On Sunday,

We are then going to go on and write about what we did in chronological order. We use time connectives to do this:

    First,

    Next,

    After that,

    Finally,

Every time we write about the next thing that we did, we start on a new line.

Remember, to use lots of adjectives and adverbs (ly words) to make your day sound as exciting as possible.
