We really enjoyed our first Philosophy for Children session of the term.

After completing some warm up activities, we listened to the song 'Bare Necessities' from the Jungle book. We discussed what the song was about and learnt that the 'bare necessities' are only those things that are really needed.

Then, we split the whiteboard into 2 categories: 'Needed' and 'Not Needed' and children wrote things on the board in either category. We then discussed as a class whether or not the items we added were truly needed.

We had a great discussion and the children thought really deeply about their suggestions, justifying their opinions and challenging each others ideas. Well done Elm Class!
