Reading for Pleasure
We firmly believe that teaching a child to read is only the beginning of their journey as a lifelong reader. At WSG we actively promote the importance of reading widely and for pleasure.
As well as a class novel, which the children share every day, they have weekly timetabled Library sessions during which they can share and discuss stories, non-fiction titles and poetry and borrow books.
We also invite authors in to school to share their work and take part in whole school celebrations such as World Book Day and 'Get Caught Reading' competitions!
