'Together We Grow: Together We Give'

Science

We made our own guitars with some containers and elastic bands. We explored how the vibrations from the playing of the guitar string makes it to our ears. We also noticed that the thicker the elastic band the lower the pitch of the sound.

We made string phones in Science. We are learning how the vibrations travel through the string to the plastic cup which enables us to hear.

Wow...Oak Class can make some noise. In Science, we have started to investigate sound. We were able to see how vibrations from a tuning fork made water move, we could feel our vocal cords vibrating as we talked and we could see rice move as we hit a drum.n

Oak class have been investigating how water is transported within plants.

In Science we are completing an ongoing investigation into what plants need to grow. As part of this, today we measured the growth of the seeds we planted last week. We will be monitoring them closely to see which grow the best.
