Spelling and reading

WALT: read common exception words.

Write some of the tricky words from the list below on to small pieces of paper.

Spread them out on the floor or table.

Grab a kitchen utensil and splat each word as you read it aloud.

How quickly can you splat all your words?

WALT: spell correctly.

Grab a piece of paper and take a line for a walk across the page. 

Pick a word from the sheets attached above and write it as many times as you can in one of the spaces.

Repeat with different words until there are no empty spaces left. 

Use different colours for each word to make an awesome 'tricky word picture'!

WALT: understand texts.

If you have time, I would like to retell a story to your grown up or to a group of your toys.

Try to make the story sound as exciting as possible? You could you use different voices or act out the story? Maybe you could use props to help your story come alive?

When you have performed your story, tell it again but this time,  change the story slightly. Maybe change the characters or the ending to the story.
