Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG)

At Wimborne St Giles we teach the key skills of grammar, punctuation and spelling through our Read Write Inc and Talk for Writing sessions. Once children have progressed through the phonics stage of Read Write Inc they begin 'Read Write Inc Spelling'. 

 

 

Through Read Write Inc. Spelling we aim to get every child spelling effortlessly. It is a stand-alone programme for children in Years 2 to Years 4 and has been specially created to meet the demands of the new national curriculum.

 

Read Write Inc. Spelling:

• Teaches spelling in short, snappy 15 minute sessions
• Engages children - new concepts are introduced by aliens on an exciting online spelling planet
• Records progress through pupil Log Books
• Includes practice tests to build confidence prior to statutory assessment.
