'Together We Grow: Together We Give'

Year 1

Enjoy playing some of these maths games today.

Finger Maths Games

Why not challenge your grown ups or siblings to the finger maths number bonds to 10 game.

You hold up some fingers and your partner has to hold up the correct number to make 10.

So....if I hold up 3 fingers, Mr Corbett will hold up 7 fingers as 3 + 7 = 10. Take it in turns.

Play-doh Challenge

Use play-doh to practice making numbers.

Can you make two 2-digit numbers and the  less than (<), more than (>)or equal to (=) symbols with your play-doh?

Now, use these to make correct number sentences. For example: use play-doh to show 12<14.

Have fun!

Place Value War

For this game you will need some cards with the digits 0-9 on. A pack of Uno cards or similar would work perfectly for this but you could make  you own cards.

Shuffle the cards and put them in a pile in the middle of the players. Players take it in turns to draw two cards and  make the biggest number possible with their cards. The player with the biggest number wins the round!

Please also spend some time trying to increase your level on Numbots.
