If the hat you found was magic, what would you like to come out of it?  Write about your amazement when you woke up using vivid description and if possible rhyme.
 

Persuasive Writing

After our class debate, write a letter to the boy  about why animals should or should not be kept in cages.  Your argument should be as persuasive as possible. 

Descriptive writing

Can you write your own story about beautiful things that came out of the hat, and describe how you feel when the animals escape?

How did the hat get there? Write a story to explain how the hat got in to the woods. Was it dropped, was it stolen? Who did the hat belong to in the first place?
