Can we make Plasticine float?

We had a great discussion about how boats float in water. We then made some super predictions about whether or not different objects would float in water. We really enjoyed testing our predictions. 

We learnt about Upthrust and the children were able to experience upthrust by pushing an inflated balloon down in to the water. 

Finally, we carried out an experiment to see see how we could make Plasticine float. We made predictions and thought about how we could make our experiment fair. We carried out our experiment, recording our findings before finally writing our conclusions.
