HeartSmart
Today, we thought about the things we love. Each child had a basket to fill with 4 items of things they love. We explained our choices and then discussed how each person’s basket was different because we are all unique and special. Boris says “We all like different things” ‘Every good and perfect gift is from above’ James 1:17
Don’t forget to let love in. Today the children looked at a picture of the Queen wearing her crown. We discussed how very important and special people wear crowns and then thought about how we are all special and important. The children shared why their friends are important and special and decided we should ALL wear crowns! Boris says “We are all special and important ‘I am a child of God’ 1 John 3:1
Today, the children went on a heart hunt. They found hearts with pictures of their class mates on and were asked to look after them. We talked about how every heart is precious and that we need to look after each other’s hearts. Proverbs 4:23 ‘Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it’ Boris says “our hearts are special and need to be looked after”
Today, we returned to Boris’ tool box and talked about the ways we can be HeartSmart. The children played a board game to help Boris fill the ‘nuts and bolts’ section of this box. The children demonstrated great turn taking, collaborative skills and were encouraged to show love and kindness to their team mates, when they were having their turn. Peter 1:22 ‘Love each other deeply with all your heart’ Boris says “It is great when friends help each other”
After listening to the story of ‘Boris the Robot’, the children made tool belts to help them remember the tools they need to be HeartSmart. Proverbs 4:23 ‘Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts Boris says “we are all learning to be HeartSmart”
