'Together We Grow: Together We Give'

Writing Workshop

We Are Learning To:

Use imaginative description

In 'Barn Owl' from the Lost Spells the poet finishes by asking the reader whether they will 'Let the wild world's whispers call you in?'

In what ways does the 'wild world whisper'? We can use these ideas to create a list poem, using imaginative description!

Here is an example:

When the Wild World's Whispers Call Me In

When the hush of snowflakes carefully blankets the earth,

When the night's breezes swirl slowly through the trees,

When gentle water laps the edge of a mirror-like lake,

When clouds billow like sails on a ship at sea,

When a beating wing soars into dizzying flight.

When the wild world whispers,

I stand. I wait. I listen.

Using the same structure, can you write your own version?
