The English Curriculum comprises several aspects of learning: Reading, Writing (including Punctuation, Spelling and Grammar) and Communication skills.

We use a 'little and often' approach to the teaching of the basic skills of letter formation and handwriting, phonics and early reading and grammar and punctuation.

We take as many creative approaches as possible when encouraging children to develop enthusiasm for writing and reading, such as using technology,  inventing imaginary scenarios through drama and role play and ensuring that there is a real life purpose and audience for the work that they produce.

Click the links below to find out more or, if you would like to discuss any aspect of the English Curriculum in more detail, please make an appointment to see Mrs Hill, our English Subject Leader, via the school office.
