For some extra science home learning experiments linked to this topic go to the *Science experiments at Home section, I have set up under the home learning section. There is a planning document with fun ideas for parents to read and do together with their children if they would like.
P4C (Philosophy For Children)
In today's session, we will start by looking at one of my favourite books: The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy. (I will attach a youtube link for you to view it). We will then openly discuss what personality traits we think are important in life and why. Philosophy for children is all about being open-minded, questioning ourselves and others. We also learn to listen to and appreciate other people's points of view. We practise being polite and taking turns whilst also challenging one another.
If you are doing this from home here are some ideas:
- Discuss with your parents/ siblings now or later over dinner or a walk.
- Phone call a friend from class or a family friend.
- Phone call a member of your family (perhaps a grandparent or cousin).
- Zoom with some other class members.
