Art

Oak Class had another great afternoon with Mrs Holmes. We used the skills we have learnt so far, about sketching and shading, and today focused on drawing what we could see.

Yesterday afternoon, we had the very talented Mrs Holmes in with us again. She showed us some of her sketches of animals and, building on what we learnt last time about using the sketching pencils, we had a go at sketching an animal.

We were privileged to have Mrs Holmes in class with us this week. She is a fantastic artist and came in to help us with our sketching. First, we looked at some different pencils and why we might use them for different things. Then, we had a go a drawing a cube, sphere and a nut.

This afternoon we had a go at using the watercolours. Taking inspiration from the Northern Lights, we used the paintbrushes to create different effects. Using the paint pallet lids we mixed colours to make a variety of different bright colours.
Now we have experimented with colour, next time we will begin creating our own Northern Lights scene.
