Saplings

In Saplings, Mrs Palmer provides activities to support children to become inquisitive and independent learners through offering a free flow environment having access to both indoor and outdoor opportunities, all based around the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The areas of learning are divided into three prime areas and four specific areas. The Prime areas are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and Physical Development. The specific areas are broken into Literacy, Number, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design. Children will develop new skills to reach their full potential through play based learning that is developed around the children's own interests.

Our whole school values of Love, Joy and Hope are strongly placed in our day, alongside the British Values.

Our aim is to strive for all children to feel safe and have a sense of belonging, helping to promote children's self esteem, resilience and belief in their own achievements and abilities.

In Saplings we use Class Dojo, which is a secure online learning journey to record children's progress and development through observations and photos. The system also allows us to work closely with parents and carers to share information whilst allowing parents to contribute to their child's learning journey and experiences from their home life.
