'Together We Grow: Together We Give'

November 13th: Committed to embracing justice

Today, we began worship by wondering what an army does best. We wondered if there are different kinds of armies and if there are different kinds of ‘fighting’.

We shared the story of William and Catherine Booth:

We wondered what they were fighting for and fighting against.

I’ll fight’ – we listened to the words of William Booth and of people today. and talked about what we might fight for.

We linked this to our value of Hope:

We finished with this prayer:

Dearest Lord,
teach me to be generous;
teach me to serve You as You deserve; to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for reward save that of knowing I am doing Your will.

(St Ignatius Loyola 1491-1556)
