‘On your marks, get set, go!’

Last Tuesday we held our Annual Sports Day which was another opportunity for whole school to get together and celebrate the efforts and achievements of our won-derful children. This year, each team was given the name of one of our School Values along with a colour and took part in a carousel of team activities before heading to the track for individual races.
Despite the grey clouds, we managed to complete quite an impressive amount of races before the rain arrived! Eventually, though we had to abandon the idea of eating outdoors and decamped to the school hall for an impromptu picnic on the floor, which actually the children found far more exciting!
A special mention must go to our youngest children. This was the second time we were joined by the Nursery and our Saplings children were amazing throughout the morning. They took part in every event with real enthusiasm and confidence and their smiles said it all.
Thank you so much to the fabulous staff for helping the day run so smoothly and to our friends and families for coming to cheer us all on. And a massive thank you to Mr Armstrong who took some fantastic action shots throughout the morning, some of which are below. (For more not-to- be- missed photos see the Latest News page on the Parents section of our website).
I think what made the day so special was the way in which our values of Respect, Perseverance, Courage, Compassion and Unity were so evident in the way all of our chil-dren participated and really rooted for each other. Well done children!
