    Party Day - Thu 18 Dec 2014

Party Day was a great success this Thursday as children enjoyed games, a fantastic buffet tea party and we had a special visit from Father Christmas himself! Father Christmas gave a present to each child in the school. The children have worked very hard this term and they thoroughly deserved a good celebration day.

Governors' Christmas Lunch - Tue 16 Dec 2014

The children were treated to our traditional Christmas lunch at the local village hall. The food and drink were provided entirely by the school governors. There were some very good and bad jokes read out from the crackers as well as some Carol Singing! We thank the governing body not only for the Christmas meal but also for their guidance and support in the education of the children. We also said thank you to Mr Campbell who comes to the end of his term as a school governor.

    Mexican Day - Mon 15 Dec 2014

This half term Elm Class have been learning about Mexico. The children have studied a small town called Tocuaro and the Horta family who live there. To celebrate our topic the class had a Mexican themed afternoon.  Activities included: making maracas, piñatas and drawing cacti.  We also made nachos with the help of Mrs Garrett and some of us tried some hot jalapeno peppers! Parents were invited to view the children's work from the topic and taste test our Mexican delicacies.  Thank you for the fantastic home learning projects that were produced and all the extra items which really brought our topic to life!

Many thanks to Father Christmas who could join us at this very busy time in the year, we understand that he visits many schools across the world. Well done to all the children who took part in singing at the end of the fayre. Thank you very much to Lucy for donating the Christmas tree and Min for decorating it. A very special thank you to the PTA who worked tirelessly to organise much of the event. Visit from Year 8 Maths Ambassadors - Wed 10 Dec 2014

Each term our Key Stage 2 Oak Tree class work alongside staff and students from Cranborne Middle school. This time we invited the maths Ambassadors to one of our BIG Maths sessions. Together we tackled some of the harder times tables facts, learning the 7's off by heart. The Maths Ambassadors planned lots of fun thinking activities for us where we visited stations to learn times tables facts before catching a train to rehearse our new skills.
