  • Fun-filled return to school

    Fri 23 Apr 2021

What an amazing first week back! It has been wonderful to see the children in Ash and Saplings, enjoying their time together. Lots of brilliant Talk 4 Writing sessions, counting beyond 10 and it's been so great to have Jan back with her songs and instruments

  • Happy Earth Day 2021!

    Thu 22 Apr 2021

Happy Earth Day 2021! This year’s theme was ‘Restore Our Earth’ and we celebrated by officially launching our Eco Committee and holding our first meeting, creating Power, Plastic and Plant pledges for the next two weeks as part of Blue Peter’s Climate Heroes campaign and learning how to reduce our carbon footprints.

We also made a ‘super pledge’ which was a whole school litter pick and learned two new Eco songs! Morrison’s had very generously donated some plants as part of their ‘Seeds of Hope’ campaign which we will be planting tomorrow and Eco Committee have lots more exciting events planned this term too- watch this space....!

  • We explore our value of Joy in Muddy Church

    Wed 21 Apr 2021

This week we have begun to explore our new School Value of ‘Joy’. In our Muddy Church time this morning, we thought of lots of different ways that connecting with the beauty of the natural world makes it possible to feel or see joy. We ended with a really joyful song (and we think the birds definitely joined in!) #muddychurch #choosejoy #worshipwithoutwalls

  • Spring Term signs out in style.

    Fri 02 Apr 2021

We had such a lovely end to our Easter term! We began our Easter Celebrations with our Easter Service in WSG Wild Woods which gave us another moment to reflect on our value of Hope, how far we had all come this term and just how much we had to be thankful for. Year 4 led the service brilliantly with their readings, poems and prayers and the singing (accompanied by birdsong!) was just beautiful.

Later on in the sunshine we all enjoyed an ice lolly - our way of saying a huge thank you and well done for all the children’s hard work and perseverance at home and at school.

The next day we had the huge excitement of an Easter Egg hunt (thank you so much to our wonderful PTA for organising and to Morrisons for their generous donation of the Easter eggs!) We finished the day by sharing our Easter hymns and songs outside school - which was just the best note on which to end the term together.

Well done WSG - we couldn’t be prouder and more thankful for you all. We wish our amazing school family and our fantastic community a very Happy Easter.
