  • Half Term Congratulations

    Fri 12 Feb 2021

A huge WELL DONE to all of our wonderful children and all they have achieved this half term.

You have blown us away with all you have been learning and creating - at home and at school - and we are all so impressed with your hard work and enthusiasm!

What you have managed to do, and be, when everything has been different is a BIG deal. You should all be so proud of yourselves.

A massive THANK YOU too to all of our families for the way you have supported the children and for all the encouragement and kindness you have given to us here at WSG; it means everything.

Today, we reflected again on our whole school value of Hope. We have been overwhelmed by the way that our wider community have also shown their support and compassion and given so much hope to us all. Thank you so much for our wonderful banner outside the front of school and the ‘Hope Springs’ tree in the village - such a lovely thing to do.

We are so grateful for our wonderful little school family.

    Have a wonderful half term.

  • We are thriving, not just surviving!

    Thu 04 Feb 2021

Today, in our Worship session, we talked about ‘Flourishing’. Part of our time was spent exploring the South African concept of ‘Ubuntu’, which means:

    ‘I am; because you are’.

We also looked at Maya Angelou’s poetry, in which she expressed the importance of

    ‘thriving, not just surviving’.

We thought about defining ‘flourishing’ as:

‘Being the person you were meant to be’.

The children had such lovely ideas about helping others to flourish too.

  • Children's Mental Health Week

    Mon 01 Feb 2021

Today marks the start of Children’s Mental Health Week. Over the next few days, we will be exploring this year’s theme of ‘Express Yourself’ with the children. Today in Collective Worship, we talked about looking for the beauty in the world, getting outside and being grateful for our surroundings - a great way to boost mental and physical well-being. The children had some fantastic ideas about what makes the world so wonderful! #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek #TogetherWeGrow #itsawonderfulworld
