  • Collective Worship - Learning the Value 'Service' - Thu 26 Mar 2015

    Thu 26 Mar 2015
This week we were very grateful to receive two special visitors at our Collective Worship. Through the Christian Value ‘Service’ we heard about Sarah Wright’s role as a nurse and Stuart Mitchell’s role as a train driver, both in full uniform. The children asked some very good questions and there were opportunities to hold various train essential items and to bandage Sarah’s arm – well done Holly!
  • Guitar Recital - Thu 26 Mar 2015

    Thu 26 Mar 2015
A special well done to Oaks Class who performed to their parents on Monday. Every year we subscribe to the excellent Dorset Local Authority Music Service so that all children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3 and 4) get the opportunity to learn different instruments. The performance was a way to show case the children’s special talents!

  • Partial eclipse - Sat 21 Mar 2015

    Sat 21 Mar 2015
On Friday the children gathered on the playground to witness the first partial eclipse over the British mainland since 1999 (before all of them were born!) Due to a murky cloud cover the spectacle was not visible above the skies of Wimborne St Giles so we created our very own using items from the PE shed and our imaginations!
  • French Club - Fri 20 Mar 2015

    Fri 20 Mar 2015
Our after school French club concluded this week with a grand picnic. The children were able to dunk French bread, croissant and pain au chocolate in bowls of hot chocolate. Also available were a variety of French cheeses, jam and butter. Throughout the term French club have learned greetings, colours and numbers and how to say simple phrases. An interactive DVD has given us an insight into French schools and the hobbies of children who are a similar age.

Playground Buddies and Golden Rules - Thu 05 Mar 2015

We now have some new roles and responsibilities in school to support children's behaviour, especially at playtimes. The Bible tells us that God has given us responsibilities and we have enjoyed carrying these out.

Two children will now act as 'Playground Buddies' to support those who need a little help making friends and to help those to play and learn new games. Already our Year 4 children have been great ambassadors for behaviour and are brilliant role models for younger children!

We have a set of Golden Rules that you will find in each classroom. There will soon be a weather proof version in the playground. Included on this news item is a PDF copy should you want to share these with your child at home.
