  • Christmas Fayre and a special guest!

    Sun 29 Nov 2015 Miss H

Last Friday saw the successful organisation of another Christmas Fayre. Ably organised by our fabulous PTA, it was wonderful to see everyone having such a good time, sampling the stalls and getting into the Festive Spirit!

We were incredibly fortunate to not only be visited by Father Christmas, but also by Scotty Mitchell, the BDO World Darts Champion, who came to talk to the children about darts and even brought a special darts set with him so the children could have a go!

It was a brilliant event; thank you to everyone involved and parents, grandparents and staff who helped set up and then manned stalls throughout the afternoon.

We managed to raise £616 pounds which is absolutely brilliant!

Special thanks to Catherine Lane for leading the organisation of the Fayre and Scotty Mitchell's visit. See below for photos!

  • Wessex Water drop by!

    Wed 25 Nov 2015 Miss H

On Wednesday we were visited by Wessex Water! The children learned how to save water through a mixture of interactive presentations, demonstrations and hands-on science investigations.

We also learned about precipitation, evaporation and condensation with the 'Water Cycle Song'!

It was a really fun way to explore some serious issues such as water conservation and the children really enjoyed themselves! See below for photos.....

  • Our new Radio Station has arrived!!

    Fri 20 Nov 2015

On Tuesday last week our Radio Station was installed. Russell Prue from Anderton Tiger Radio (the radio's inventor!) came to see us for the day and trained a group of our Year 4 children.

By the end of the day the children knew how to create a broadcast, could deliver a smooth intro and outro and put together their own show!

I was so impressed with their focus and professionalism and focus throughout the day. This is just the start of a very exciting journey into radio broadcasting for the school - watch this space!
