  • Summer Fair

Sat 16 Jul 2016 Mrs Hill

On Friday our fabulous PTA team held the school's annual Summer Fair.

There was so much to see and do - from Bouncy Castles to the 'Greasy Pole', tombolas to face painting, with two brand new events: WSG's Got Talent and a 'Bake Off' it was an action packed two hours!

Thank you to all of you for turning out to support us - it was great so see so many of you there.

Huge thanks too to the PTA, brilliantly led by Catherine Lane for organising such a successful event. I have been informed that we managed to raise a whopping £1021.22 which is a fantastic achievement!

    See below for photos!

  • PGL Days 2 and 3

Fri 08 Jul 2016 Mrs Hill

PGL turned out to be incredibly action packed!

Day 2 saw all the children up bright and (incredibly) early! After breakfast, we headed off for quad biking and archery - we really enjoyed having a turn on the bikes by ourselves!

After lunch we got onto a coach and set off for Portland and raft building. This was great fun - especially once we finally got onto the water. The children worked incredibly well in their teams and managed to stay afloat most of the time!

After tea, it was time for the campfire and learning lots of silly songs. As the sun went down, we just had time for hot chocolate and marshmallows before heading off to bed. This time there was barely any chatting before everyone was fast asleep...

The next morning we woke to yet another beautiful sunny day. We had a little bit of time before breakfast so squeezed in a game of volleyball at Little Wembley. Then, after breakfast, it was time for our final activities: climbing wall and potholing. Lots of the children proved they had a head for heights as well as a love of a tunnel!

All too soon it was time for us to return to WSG. We had an amazing time and the children were fantastic throughout. Well done Year 4 - you were a credit to us all!

  • Year 4 Arrive in Osmington Bay!

Tue 05 Jul 2016 Mrs Hill

After much excitement, and several choruses of 'Are we nearly there yet?' we finally arrived to  rather misty Osmington Bay! After a picnic lunch, we set off on our first activity: the Zip Wire!

Year 4 proved that they really had a 'head for heights' with some taking to the wires several times (with their best Superman poses).

Then it was time for Aeroball - exhausting but great fun!

After a quick exploration of 'Little Wembley', we headed off for tea. The salad bar was very popular as was the water machine!

Immediately afterwards we headed to our evening activity 'Robot Wars'. This was great fun and we worked really well in teams to defeat each others 'robots'.

And so to bed and after a little bit of chatter, all was quiet....

Today we are looking forward to archery, quad biking and raft building - check back soon for another update! :)
