  • Our Vision Tree gains its leaves!

    Fri 15 Oct 2021

Today was a special day as the children finally had the opportunity to add their hand-stitched leaves to the Vision tree on our altar cloth.

We want every child to flourish and to fulfill their potential. We teach children that no two leaves are the same - and neither are they! Throughout their time with us, we instill  the sense in them that they are unique, they are special and they are loved.

The visual representation of our vision is a tree with the children as leaves reaching out. We want our children to flourish and be empowered to change the world. Throughout their time with us, children are given regular opportunities to serve their local, national and global community and 'be the change' they want to see in the world.

We regularly explore this idea from St Augustine:

"We flourish, not for our own sake, but so we can look outwards and give."

Last term, each child carefully stitched their name onto a leaf and it was wonderful to watch them add their names to the tree today.

“And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:12

  • Just One Tree day

    Fri 15 Oct 2021

To support Just One Tree day, children were invited to come to school dressed as a tree or in forest colours in return for a £1 donation. There were some fantastic outfits and the children really enjoyed the day.

Just One Tree pledge to plant a tree for every £1 donated. Reforestation on this scale will create a greener future for our children, help them understand the challenges of climate change and empower them to make a difference. â€‹

    Well done WSG #TogetherWeGrow #TogetherWeGive

  • Extra Special Collective Worship

    Wed 06 Oct 2021

It was a great pleasure to welcome back Rev. Carr today. The children really enjoyed his worship and it felt great to get back to a sense of normality, welcoming visitors into the school again. We're looking forward to Rev. Carr's worship again next month. #TogetherWeGrow #TogetherWeGive

  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 01 Oct 2021

On Friday 1st October, we held our annual Harvest Festival at St Giles’ Church. This was the first time we had all been in church together for a long time and it was so special to have our families join us too. The children's poems and prayers were really thoughtful and their singing raised the roof! Thank you to all of you for your generous donations to Ringwood Foodbank; they were very grateful for our support.

  • Welcome back!

    Tue 07 Sep 2021

And, just like that, the new term began! What glorious weather to begin the new term too! It was so lovely to see all of our wonderful children so clearly happy to be back together again and looking so smart in their school uniform - we’ve missed you!

Welcome to all of our new families too: we are really looking forward to getting to know you over the next few weeks. Here’s to another amazing Autumn term!

  • We are Climate Heroes...and Blue Peter badge winners!

    Wed 01 Sep 2021

Last term, Oak and Elm Classes answered Blue Peter's call to find Climate Heroes and they have been rewarded with their own Green Blue Peter Badges.

Each class undertook three pledges, one in each of the following categories; Power, Plastic and Plants. We recycled our plastics, made litter pickers and went on litter picks around the school and village. In school and at home, we turned off lights and power when we didn't need them and completed many gardening tasks including planting wild flowers on our meadow area to help attract and support more wildlife. We also created some powerful individual and group artwork to highlight the importance of becoming more energy efficient and helping to save the planet.

The Green Blue Peter Badges will be presented in Celebration Worship and our Certificates proudly displayed on our Eco Board. Well done Wimborne St Giles, we are so proud of the efforts you made and continue to make to help save the planet. As of the 30th June 2021, Blue Peter have offset a massive 220,725 kilos of carbon thanks to all the green pledges

  • The end of another extraordinary year!

    Fri 23 Jul 2021

And so, another extraordinary year comes to an end. We have had the most amazing last week of term - starting with a Fantastic Friday Funday organised by our incredible PTA, followed by a truly beautiful service in WSG Wild Woods for our wonderful Year 4 Leavers and finishing with a disco and a final Celebration Worship outside school this afternoon. It’s been a wonderful time of celebration, joy, love and laughter. We are so full of gratitude for our wonderful school and the children, staff, families and wider community who make up the heart and soul of our little school family. To the amazing children who leave us this year: our thoughts go with you as the memories and legacies you leave stay behind. We could not be prouder of you all. To those who are returning: we cannot wait to see you all again in September! Have a wonderful Summer! #TogetherWeGrow #TogetherWeGive

  • Our Year 4 adventurers return.

    Fri 25 Jun 2021

We are SO proud of our Year 4 children who have just returned from three days residential with PGL in Osmington Bay. They were the youngest group on site and impressed all of the instructors with the way they encouraged each other and their boundless enthusiasm, teamwork, courage, resilience, beautiful manners and behaviour!

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing PTA and governors who generously subsidised the trip and a huge thank you is also owed to Dorset Community Transport for getting us there and back and our Year 4 families for taking all of the luggage.

Well done again Year 4: it was an utter privilege and joy to be there with you and, as it bears repeating, we could not be prouder of you all. #togetherwegrow #makingmemories #learningwithoutwalls #joyinallwedo
